The work Unknown by Torii Kiyonaga was sold in the Japanese Art and Design auction at Christies in London in May 2008. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,950.27), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torii Kiyonaga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ROULEAU DE MANCHE (SODE NO MAKI ) in December 2018 with an auction result of EUR 125,000.00.

Die Arbeit Unknown von Torii Kiyonaga wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Japanese Art and Design bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.950,27) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Torii Kiyonaga erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ROULEAU DE MANCHE (SODE NO MAKI ) im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 125.000,00.
