Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Torii Kiyonaga could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Two chuban yoko-e prints and an oban yoko-e print changed hands for USD 612.00 (€ 551.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torii Kiyonaga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ROULEAU DE MANCHE (SODE NO MAKI ) in December 2018 with an auction result of EUR 125,000.00.
