Sold at the upper estimate price
In November 2008 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Unknown by Torii Kiyonaga. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,022.69), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,200.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torii Kiyonaga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work ROULEAU DE MANCHE (SODE NO MAKI ) in December 2018 with an auction result of EUR 125,000.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art and Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Torii Kiyonaga zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.022,69) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.200,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Torii Kiyonaga erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ROULEAU DE MANCHE (SODE NO MAKI ) im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 125.000,00.
