Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work My Architectural Digest is Tetris by Torey Thornton was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May 2018. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,033.42). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torey Thornton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Park on Log on Lawn Mower, Smash in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 87,571.55).

Die Arbeit My Architectural Digest is Tetris von Torey Thornton wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.033,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Torey Thornton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Park on Log on Lawn Mower, Smash im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 87.571,55).
