Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled Portrait by Torey Thornton for USD 250.00 (€ 220.61). This price was achieved in the auction Unbound: Online Only at Phillips in Bidding Closes and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Torey Thornton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Park on Log on Lawn Mower, Smash in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 87,571.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled Portrait von Torey Thornton für USD 250,00 (€ 220,61) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Unbound: Online Only bei Phillips in Bidding Closes erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Torey Thornton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Park on Log on Lawn Mower, Smash im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 87.571,55).
