This artwork by Tom Sachs achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction, the work 118 Composition No. III; Composition with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black (Mondrian) sold for USD 158,750.00 (€ 149,005.07) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tom Sachs; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tiffany Value Meal sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39).

In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session wurde die Arbeit 118 Composition No. III; Composition with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black (Mondrian) für USD 158.750,00 (€ 149.005,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00.
