Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tom Roberts could be acquired at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Sydney Harbour changed hands for AUD 57,600.00 (€ 35,123.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tom Roberts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian shearing Shed, Newstead in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 300,000.00 (€ 175,124.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tom Roberts konnte im November 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wechselte die Arbeit Australian Sydney Harbour für AUD 57.600,00 (€ 35.123,17) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Roberts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian shearing Shed, Newstead im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 300.000,00 (€ 175.124,41).
