Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian cloudscape by Tom Roberts was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 18,000.00 (€ 10,507.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tom Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian shearing Shed, Newstead in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 300,000.00 (€ 175,124.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian cloudscape von Tom Roberts wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 18.000,00 (€ 10.507,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tom Roberts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian shearing Shed, Newstead im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 300.000,00 (€ 175.124,41).
