Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian On The Banks Of The River At Heidelberg by Tom Roberts was auctioned at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. The price achieved of AUD 72,000.00 (€ 43,372.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tom Roberts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian shearing Shed, Newstead in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 300,000.00 (€ 175,124.41).

Die Arbeit Australian On The Banks Of The River At Heidelberg von Tom Roberts kam im November 2007 bei Sothebys in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 72.000,00 (€ 43.372,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Roberts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian shearing Shed, Newstead im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 300.000,00 (€ 175.124,41).
