This work of art by Tom Baril could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design auction, the work The Manhattan Portfolio changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,173.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tom Baril have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portfolio of 8, 1993-2001 in February 2008 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,041.75).
