Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Images by Tom Baril for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,173.74). This price was achieved in the auction CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Tom Baril have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portfolio of 8, 1993-2001 in February 2008 with an auction result of USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,041.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Selected Images von Tom Baril für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.173,74) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion CONTEMPORARY LIVING – Photographs, Prints & Design bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom Baril auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portfolio of 8, 1993-2001 im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.400,00 (€ 18.041,75).
