Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portfolio of 8 by Tom Baril was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2010. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,948.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tom Baril - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portfolio of 8, 1993-2001, which sold at auction in February 2008 for USD 27,400.00 (€ 18,041.75).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.948,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tom Baril mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portfolio of 8, 1993-2001 beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für USD 27.400,00 (€ 18.041,75) versteigert wurde.
