Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Geranio' by Tina Modotti was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,922.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tina Modotti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Geranio' von Tina Modotti kam im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.922,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tina Modotti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Telephone Wires, Mexico im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 692.000,00 (€ 617.801,98).
