Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tina Modotti could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection auction, the work Campesinos changed hands for USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,597.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tina Modotti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tina Modotti konnte im April 2019 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Passion & Humanity: The Susie Tompkins Buell Collection wechselte die Arbeit Campesinos für USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.597,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tina Modotti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Telephone Wires, Mexico im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 692.000,00 (€ 617.801,98).
