Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Artist | Icon | Inspiration: Women in Photography Presented with Peter Fetterman, which included the work Untitled (bird sculpture) by Tina Modotti. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,742.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tina Modotti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
