Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Mary Aubrey of Rathcoffey, Co. Kildare, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress and white embroidered wrap, her left arm resting on a stone plinth, in a landscape by Tilly Kettle was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2000. The price achieved of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,312.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tilly Kettle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 208,744.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Mary Aubrey of Rathcoffey, Co. Kildare, three-quarter-length, in a blue dress and white embroidered wrap, her left arm resting on a stone plinth, in a landscape von Tilly Kettle kam im Mai 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 124.750,00 (€ 208.744,85).
