Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a man, said to be Mr. Barnaby, half-length by Tilly Kettle was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 10,080.00 (€ 8,583.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tilly Kettle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 208,744.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a man, said to be Mr. Barnaby, half-length von Tilly Kettle kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 124.750,00 (€ 208.744,85).
