Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a brown coat and pink and gold waistcoat by Tilly Kettle was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,437.50 (€ 4,927.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tilly Kettle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 208,744.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a brown coat and pink and gold waistcoat von Tilly Kettle kam im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 124.750,00 (€ 208.744,85).
