Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tilly Kettle could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Online auction, the work Portrait Of George Legge, 3Rd Earl Of Dartmouth (1755-1810), Half Length, As A Young Boy In A Green Coat And Yellow Waistcoat, His Head Turned To The Right changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,484.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tilly Kettle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 124,750.00 (€ 208,744.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tilly Kettle konnte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters Online wechselte die Arbeit Portrait Of George Legge, 3Rd Earl Of Dartmouth (1755-1810), Half Length, As A Young Boy In A Green Coat And Yellow Waistcoat, His Head Turned To The Right für USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.484,71) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tilly Kettle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Umdat-ul-Umara and Amir-ul-Umara, the two sons of Nawab Muhammad Ali Khan of Arcot and the Carnatic, three-quarter-length, wearing embroidered costumes, plumed turbans and jewellery. im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 124.750,00 (€ 208.744,85).
