The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,050.69) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Worthington Whittredge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pine Cone Gatherers in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 360,500.00 (€ 340,801.66).

Die Arbeit In Stony Cove von Worthington Whittredge kam im März 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.050,69) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Worthington Whittredge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pine Cone Gatherers im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 360.500,00 (€ 340.801,66).
