Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Matthews Rooke could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christopher Wood A Very Victorian Eye auction, the work Studies of a female figure, full-length, with drapery changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 533.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Matthews Rooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clytie Turning Towards The Sun in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,676.11).
