Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Hogarth's house, Chiswick by Thomas Matthews Rooke was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in April 2011. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 563.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Matthews Rooke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Clytie Turning Towards The Sun in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,676.11).
