Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nail and Wire (Front Page I) by Thomas Hirschhorn was sold in the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction at Christies in New York in October 2018. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,030.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hirschhorn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstrait Relief No. 548 (Nietzche) in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 125,503.48).

Die Arbeit Nail and Wire (Front Page I) von Thomas Hirschhorn wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.030,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hirschhorn erzielen.
