Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young gentleman, facing right in blue coat with red collar, white waistcoat and tied cravat by Thomas Hazlehurst was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,309.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Hazlehurst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A young boy, facing left in blue coat, white shirt with frilled collar, long curling fair hair in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,614.16).
