In July 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Open House, which included the work Misfit VII by Thomas Grünfeld. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,400.00 (€ 8,314.49), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Grünfeld have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Misfit (Cow) in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 31,070.00 (€ 44,649.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Open House durch, in der auch die Arbeit Misfit VII von Thomas Grünfeld zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.400,00 (€ 8.314,49) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Grünfeld auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Misfit (Cow) im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.070,00 (€ 44.649,28).
