In the Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection auction, the work Warkworth Hermitage, Northumberland sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,675.95) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Girtin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Durham Cathedral And Castle in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 318,933.24).
