It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,986.57), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Girtin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durham Cathedral And Castle in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 265,250.00 (€ 318,933.24).
