Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 22,750.00 (€ 26,972.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Francis Dicksee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ of the Cornfield "And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, And not man for the Sabbath." Mark, II, 27., which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 67,250.00 (€ 82,937.93).
