It achieved a price of USD 34,600.00 (€ 23,914.85), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Francis Dicksee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ of the Cornfield "And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, And not man for the Sabbath." Mark, II, 27., which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 67,250.00 (€ 82,937.93).
