Sold at the lower estimate price
The work British Waiting by Thomas Francis Dicksee was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,970.30) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Francis Dicksee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ of the Cornfield "And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, And not man for the Sabbath." Mark, II, 27., which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 67,250.00 (€ 82,937.93).
