This artwork by Thomas Francis Dicksee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction, the work Miranda sold for USD 86,500.00 (€ 66,268.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Thomas Francis Dicksee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Christ of the Cornfield "And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, And not man for the Sabbath." Mark, II, 27. sold at auction in December 2012 with the realized price of GBP 67,250.00 (€ 82,937.93).
