Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction first open - Post War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Staple (Pile/Piles) #2 by Thomas Demand. The price achieved of USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,965.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Demand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yellowcake (Embassy I,II, III, IV, IV.a, V, VI, VII, VII.a) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 375,659.45).
