Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London, which included the work Fotoecke/Photo Booth by Thomas Demand. The price achieved of GBP 23,940.00 (€ 28,588.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Demand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yellowcake (Embassy I,II, III, IV, IV.a, V, VI, VII, VII.a) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 375,659.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fotoecke/Photo Booth von Thomas Demand zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 28.588,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Demand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yellowcake (Embassy I,II, III, IV, IV.a, V, VI, VII, VII.a) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 413.000,00 (€ 375.659,45).
