Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Foto I by Thomas Demand was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,184.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Demand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yellowcake (Embassy I,II, III, IV, IV.a, V, VI, VII, VII.a) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 375,659.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Foto I von Thomas Demand wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.184,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Demand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yellowcake (Embassy I,II, III, IV, IV.a, V, VI, VII, VII.a) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 413.000,00 (€ 375.659,45).
