Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Daniell could be acquired at Bonhams in London in September 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Travel & Exploration auction, the work 'A Patna Bearer' changed hands for GBP 1,198.50 (€ 1,394.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Daniell konnte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Travel & Exploration wechselte die Arbeit 'A Patna Bearer' für GBP 1.198,50 (€ 1.394,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Daniell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 986.369,50).
