Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work 'Gate Of The Tomb Of The Emperor Akbar, At Secundra, Near Agra' Hand-Coloured Aquatint by Thomas Daniell was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,670.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).

Die Arbeit 'Gate Of The Tomb Of The Emperor Akbar, At Secundra, Near Agra' Hand-Coloured Aquatint von Thomas Daniell kam im September 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.670,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Daniell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 986.369,50).
