This artwork by Thomas Daniell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the Discovery Sale Online auction, the work Dehr Warra, from 'Hindoo Excavations in the mountain of Ellora' sold for GBP 765.00 (€ 870.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Daniell erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Discovery Sale Online wurde die Arbeit Dehr Warra, from 'Hindoo Excavations in the mountain of Ellora' für GBP 765,00 (€ 870,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 350,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Daniell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 986.369,50).
