Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Ramnugur, Near Benares, On The River Ganges' Hand-Coloured Aquatint by Thomas Daniell was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,225.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Ramnugur, Near Benares, On The River Ganges' Hand-Coloured Aquatint von Thomas Daniell kam im September 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.225,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Daniell erzielen.
