Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Part Of The Interior Of An Hindoo Temple, At Deo, In Bahar' Hand-Coloured Aquatint by Thomas Daniell was sold in the Travel & Exploration auction at Bonhams in London in September 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,631.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).

Die Arbeit 'Part Of The Interior Of An Hindoo Temple, At Deo, In Bahar' Hand-Coloured Aquatint von Thomas Daniell wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Travel & Exploration bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.402,50 (€ 1.631,83) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Daniell erzielen.
