Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven Chinese drawings: 'Sort of Plantin in Mr Robuck's garden English. Factory - Canton'; 'Paac Sha Sum(?)'; '92 near Ji..ira Dungeon(?)'; 'N.54 Half way Pagoda - near Canton River'; 'near Watering Place 2nd Bar'; 'Watering Place 2nd Bar China'; and F by [Thomas Daniell was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,609.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven Chinese drawings: 'Sort of Plantin in Mr Robuck's garden English.
