In November 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Correspondence by Theodore Robinson. The price achieved of USD 1,202,500.00 (€ 924,289.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Other works by Theodore Robinson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work A Normandy Garden, October was auctioned for USD 1,496,000.00 (€ 1,112,019.62).
