Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Barnyard With Ducks by Theodore Robinson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,848.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Normandy Garden, October in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,496,000.00 (€ 1,112,019.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Barnyard With Ducks von Theodore Robinson im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.848,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Normandy Garden, October im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.496.000,00 (€ 1.112.019,62).
