Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Wigan Landscape by Theodore Major was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in December 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,736.73). Admittedly, works by Theodore Major have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Industrial Landscape in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Wigan Landscape von Theodore Major wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.736,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Major auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Industrial Landscape im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 42.838,06).
