Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Nude by Theodore Major. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,321.16). Admittedly, works by Theodore Major have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Industrial Landscape in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude von Theodore Major zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.321,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Major auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Industrial Landscape im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 42.838,06).
