Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Theodore Major achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2013. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Eight Workmen in the Rain sold for GBP 36,250.00 (€ 41,421.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Theodore Major; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Industrial Landscape sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theodore Major erzielte im Juli 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Eight Workmen in the Rain für GBP 36.250,00 (€ 41.421,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Theodore Major; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Industrial Landscape im März 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 42.838,06).
