Sold at the upper estimate price
In March 2013 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Lady with a green hat by Theodore Major. The auction ended at the price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,112.83), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Theodore Major have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Industrial Landscape in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lady with a green hat von Theodore Major zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.112,83) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Major auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Industrial Landscape im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 42.838,06).
