This artwork by Theodore Major achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2013. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Industrial Landscape with Telegraph Poles sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,423.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Theodore Major; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Industrial Landscape sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
