Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Sun at Wigan by Theodore Major was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2013. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,300.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Theodore Major - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Industrial Landscape, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sun at Wigan von Theodore Major kam im März 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.300,23) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Theodore Major mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Industrial Landscape beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 34.100,00 (€ 42.838,06) versteigert wurde.
