Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Theaster Gates achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2021. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Embeded Hose Tight sold for GBP 40,320.00 (€ 47,768.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theaster Gates achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Flag For The Least Of Them in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 807,000.00 (€ 704,434.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theaster Gates erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Embeded Hose Tight für GBP 40.320,00 (€ 47.768,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theaster Gates erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Flag For The Least Of Them im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 807.000,00 (€ 704.434,36).
