Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A summer day, Essex by Teng-Hiok Chiu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,363.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Teng-Hiok Chiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,593.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A summer day, Essex von Teng-Hiok Chiu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.363,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Teng-Hiok Chiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.593,52).
